Laboratory Architect Planner in our Philadelphia, PA office:
Health, Education + Research Associates, Inc. (HERA) a laboratory consulting firm in Philadelphia with offices in St. Louis and Atlanta, is seeking an experienced, problem-solving Laboratory Architect-Planner.  Laboratory programming and planning, and/or lab design experience is a must.  B. Arch. or M. Arch., minimum 10 years of overall experience, and a good eye for both conceptual planning and detail are required, with 6+ years of project architect or project manager duties.  Includes future leadership role in firm.
  
As a motivated, active learner, you are able to define the questions as well as find the answers, and are willing to ask “why” as well as “what” and “how”.  You will lead client discussions locally, regionally and nationally; maturity and poise are required with the ability to develop ideas and solutions “on the fly” and clearly articulate those ideas both verbally and in writing.

Vivarium planning experience, architectural registration and LEED AP certification are desired.  AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop experience and the ability to travel are expected.  NCARB certification, marketing experience, and knowledge of 3D Studio MAX or other 3D software are pluses.

Project Architect in our Philadelphia, PA office:

HERA is looking for a person with at least three years of project experience and who has a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design to join our team as a Project Architect.  Experience with Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD along Microsoft Office products is a must.  This person should have solid architectural documentation skills, team leadership abilities, strong communication skills, and should be knowledgeable about contracts and project deliverables.

Specific roles and responsibilities includes in part:


Facility Programmers for our St. Louis, MO and Philadelphia, PA offices:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in design-related field preferred – Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, or Industrial Design.

Relevant progressive work experience in the A/E/C industry is preferred. The candidate should be able to demonstrate understanding of the industry, including the phases of design, industry jargon, reference materials and resources.  Experienced using Outlook and Microsoft Office, desktop publishing, with strong skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  The candidate/employee must exhibit strong writing communication, people, organization, and facilitation skills.

The successful candidate will work with the client (directly or as a team member) to program and plan the appropriate scope, scale and budget for facility-related projects.  These pre-design activities may occur independently or in concert with architectural activities.  Additional roles may include strategy and scenario development leading to the formation of an appropriate course of action.  The Programmer will serve as the client advocate and project leader throughout the pre-design, and potentially throughout the entire course of a project.  By providing superior service and excellent programming documentation, the programmer will support internal development efforts in the procurement of new work.
