This new science building fosters collaboration among students and researchers from a wide variety of disciplines. More than 50 teaching and research labs are dispersed throughout the facility, including environmental/earth science, organic and general chemistry, bioscience, ecology, computer science, paleomagnetics, environmental nanotechnology, ecology, earth materials processing, computational and spatial analysis, stable isotope geochemistry, mass spectrometry and trace-level analysis, and geo-media/particulate material characterization.. Lehigh’s interdisciplinary Environmental Initiative program conducts research in climate change, aquatic ecosystems, nanotechnology, groundwater contamination, environmental literacy and energy-related topics, to name a few. The facility is a “Green” building with LEED® Gold certification.
