North Kentucky University
Natural Science Center
Highland Heights, Kentucky
This collaborative learning center integrates under-graduate instruction and research in chemistry, physics/astronomy, geology, and biological sciences. The modular design of the building’s 48 labs allowed for various teaching configurations for fixed islands and adjustable tables. In addition to teaching and research labs, the Science Center includes classrooms, greenhouse, animal holding room, hazmat room, planetarium, faculty offices, and storage. Student and faculty lounges, library areas, museum and display spaces, and student clubs provide areas for impromptu dialogues and more formal discussions.
