Ohio State University
Jennings Hall Renovation
Columbus, Ohio

This renovation of the 1914 structure provided a more suitable environment for research and teaching laboratories for the College of Biological Sciences. Included were spaces for entomology, introductory biology, and general classroom pool. HERA programmed space for the Mathematical Biosciences Institute, a nationally recognized institute for furthering the role of mathematics in biosciences. Labs are organized around horizontal zoning of generic and flexible spaces, with lab benches on the perimeter walls and movable tables/benches in the center. Labs are planned for flexibility to support future renovation and change.
