Life Science Building Renovation

The Life Science Building renovation created teaching and research space for biology programs including cell biology, biochemistry/molecular biology, freshwater ecology, and large lake biology.

The building is also home to the Paddock Laboratories Pharmacy Education Center for the pharmacy program at UMD. The Center contains classrooms and laboratories for faculty research and student professional practice experience, including:

  • Pharmaceutical Care Lab (instruction and practice of pharmaceutical care procedures and techniques)
  • Patient Assessment Lab (discussion and practice of techniques of physical examination)
  • Research lab (general wet lab research by faculty, graduate students, lab technicians)

In addition, there are study spaces, computer laboratories, and a student lounge.

The project received LEED Silver certification.
